Did Ya Know

1. Cadet Programs has an updated regulation CAPR 52-16 as of June 2011.

2. As part of the new regulation did you know:

a. You can perform High Adventure Activities (HAA) – rappelling, firearms, obstacle course, low-ropes course, water survival courses - but you must apply to the Wing Commander using the new ORM forms.

b. Cadets turning 18 can now take the CPPT portion six months prior to their 18th birthday.  It should be completed within six months following their 18th birthday.  They may not attend any activities nor promote if they have not taken CPPT.

c. You MUST provide and participate in at least one Aerospace Excellence activity per quarter.

d. You MUST provide at least one 1-hour Character Development forum per month.  If you do not have a chaplain or CDI, the commander may conduct the forum using CAPP 265 Volume 1, 2, & 3 Values for Living.

e. The goal is to provide each new cadet their first orientation ride within 90 days of joining.

f. Hang gliding, parachuting, parasailing, flying ultralights, or aerolights as a CAP activity is NOT allowed.

g. Each squadron should have at minimum two senior officers with TLC (Training Leaders of Cadets) credit.

h. There should be one outside activity per month for cadets to attend such as ALS, FTX, SAR EX, Air Show, CTEP, Encampment, Color Guard activities, etc.

i. Each squadron should have a CAC (Cadet Advisory Council) representative and one alternate and that the Squadron Commander is responsible for getting them to face to face meetings which should be happening during Group Commander Calls.

3. Also, DDR activities can be recorded on eServices.
