Region Cadet Leadership School

If you need a Region Cadet Leadership School, this may be the avenue for you. Southwest Region has authorized Texas Wing to turn their top two Cadet Training and Education Program (CTEP) leadership schools into a two part Region Cadet Leadership School. We are very excited to have this opportunity and hope to see many of you there.

On the weekend of 30 September - 2 October 2011 a Region Cadet Leadership School Parts 1 and 2 will be held at Camp Mabry in Austin, TX. RCLS is a Region-level activity that promotes standardization and enrichment of training at the Cadet Officer and Executive Level. This activity will be held in conjuction with the Texas Wing Cadet Training and Education Program (CTEP).

Cadets planning to attend this school must submit a Texas Wing Form 31A (attached) and $45 to Chaplain Nancy Smalley NLT 10 September 2011.

Applications for the Schools will only be accepeted if the application is complete with safety letter box checked and signed by the commander as well as payment submitted. We have a limited number of spaces this year and will hold the schools to the limits set in the Ops Plan. We will not be billeting in Building 14 as we usually do and will only have cots for cadets and seniors to sleep on. Please bring a sleeping bag instead of sheets this year. We will have access to showers in Building 8 where we will be sleeping. Everyone will be required to sleep in PT gear or sweats.
Seniors, if you have cots that you can bring please let us know so that we can give another cadet a place.

Cadets wishing to go to RCLS-OTS must be C/2d Lt.
Cadets wishing to go to RCLS-CCSC must be C/Maj or above (or must be C/Capt with RCLS-OTS credit within the past year).
Ops Plan is attached

APPLICATION PROCESS STEP 1
TXWG Form 31A
should be submitted to Chaplain Nancy Smalley no later than 10 September 2011.

The following information must be included on the 31A:

  • Seniors may apply for STAFF or STEP-TLC (Senior Training & Education Program - Training Leaders of Cadets)

  • Squadron commanders should verify the school the cadet is asking to attend as well as check the box telling us that the cadet is current on their safety information.
  • Be sure to include your CURRENT CAP grade (not the grade you think you will be in two months).

APPLICATION PROCESS STEP 2
You must mail your TXWGF31A and the $45.00 (Make check out to Texas Wing Cadet Programs) activity charge (cadets and seniors) to Chaplain Nancy Smalley at the address below: There will be a late fee of $10.00 if your fee is not paid by the due date of the application.
