 West Houston
Airport- Thunderbird Composite Squadron promoted five members on a
fine fall evening while family and friends looked on. On Tuesday October
17, 2006 the Billy Mitchell ceremony was held for Cadets Keith Kasmarek
and John Barron. Group IV Commander Maj Dennis Cima, Lt Col Fred Koseggi
and 1 Lt Stephen Starke lead the ceremony. Both cadets were members of
the Thunderbird color guard team that won the Texas Wing 2006 color
guard competition and went on to represented Texas at the 2006 SWR Cadet
Competition this past April in Tucson, AZ. Cadet Kasmarek earned the
2004 Texas Winter Encampment Honor Cadet, attended the 2006 CAP Texas
Powered Flight Academy and plans to go to the Air Force Academy. Cadet
Barron graduated high school this past May and is currently enrolled in
program to become a helicopter pilot. 
 Cadets Harmando
Savory and James Early were promoted from basic cadet to Airman. Senior
member 1Lt Starke, Thunderbird DCFC, was promoted to Capt by Squadron
Commander Capt Eric Thompson.
