Brooks City - Base, TX - Group V had its first Recreation Day on 28 July 2007, held at the Group V Civil Air Patrol Headquarters and Brooks Air Force Base Facilities.

The Group V Cadet Advisory Council planned and ran the event in response to several squadron's requests for a sports competition event.

Numerous sports were played, including basketball, soccer, touch football, volleyball, and ultimate
frisbee.

A PT Competition was included in the day. Cadets competed in competitions in the flutter kick, full
sit-up, 90-degree pushup, and the artistic push-up.

Overall, it was a huge success, with over 50 cadets and officers attending. Another Group V Recreation
Day is planned for the fall.
